BMW recalls over 15,000 motorcycles
It would seem that the recall notices were piling up at BMW's Motorrad division, leading the company to release safety notices for three separate issues all at once. The largest recall will go to 15,500 owners of BMW's 2007-2008 K 1200GT; 2007-2009 R 1200 GS, R 1200 GS Adventure, R 1200 R, R 1200 RT and finally 2007 R 1200 ST. That issue involves the front brake line, which could develop stress cracks and eventually leak, leading to the loss of braking performance.

Bmw x6

- BMW isn't the first manufacturer to call a non-coupe a coupe.
- That honor (which some might consider dubious) belongs to Mercedes-Benz,
- Which applies the term to the slinky CLS luxury sedan.
- Not to be outdone, Volkswagen recently .
- Unveiled a nomenclatural oxymoron of its own with the four-door Passat coupe.
- But were there an award for Least-Coupelike Coupe, the prize would undoubtedly go to the BMW X6, a luxury performance SUV the manufacturer has dubbed a "Sports Activity Coupe."

BMW Unveils Its New 5 Series Sedan

Get ready America, the new 6th generation BMW 5 Series Sedan was unveiled in Munich today, and will be heading stateside very soon. BMW says the 5 Series has an athletic and executive look with “innovative comfort and safety features” that reflects its standards for high-performance vehicles. This sedan has the longest wheelbase in the segment, a long sleek hood, short overhangs, and a coupe-like roofline—the new BMW 5 Series will be available with one V-8 and one inline-6 gasoline engine. Autoblog reports that “the new 5 Series picks up much of what can be found in the 7 Series and the Gran Turismo.”

Spied 2010 BMW 5 Series Front Three Quarter View

Another prototype of the next-generation 2010 BMW 5 Series has been caught, this time while running laps around the Nurburging. The most noticeable change between this 5 Series tester and the last time one was caught is the mesh camouflage that covered up the grille has been removed, revealing BMW's signature kidney grille and some of the front fascia lines, which appear to be softer and more flowing than on the current car.
Dimensionally, expect the new 5 Series to add some space between the wheels by extending the wheelbase some four inches and widening the track. Overall length, height and width should also increase fractionally. Expect 17-inch wheels as standard equipment, with 18- and 19-inch wheels optional. As for powertrain speculation, it is believed the new 5 Series is expected to use variants of existing engines in BMW's line-up. The base engine should be a version of the automaker's 2.5-liter straight-six while top-range models will use the current 4.8-liter V-8, with the 4.4-liter twin turbo V-8 found in the X6 as another possible engine option. And of course, expect a re-worked version of the M5's 5.0-liter V10.
With the current E60 5 Series getting long in the tooth, the new one shouldn't be far away and may make its debut at either next year's Geneva or Frankfurt Motor Shows in time for the 2010 model year.
