Droid 2 being prepared for launch, set to arrive August 23rd?moto
The Droid 2's been leaking out all over the place in the past few weeks, but it looks like it'll be another month before it officially hits shelves ,the above picture was publishes in engadget which puts it right on schedule for that rumored August 23rd launch. The phone will definitely ship with an 8GB microSD card, and that pricing appears to be $199 on contract and $599 standalone.

Motorola mini Droid slider caught by Mr. Blurrycam
Okay, this one's a complete and very welcome surprise -- some extremely blurry pictures of what appears to be a smaller Motorola portrait QWERTY Android slider for Verizon just popped up on the Chinese Hiapk forums -- and yes, it's got the glowing red Droid eye. We're not sure if that means the Droid line is about to get a smaller midrange sibling or what, but Motorola's definitely pushing out some of the more interesting Android form factors lately, and this mini Droid certainly fits right in with the Flipout and the Charm.

Droid X sold out online and scarce at retail
Verizon told CNET the company had "done everything possible" to ensure adequate supply of the Droid X, but there's apparently no anticipating the demand for a top-tier smartphone -- like the Droid Incredible before it, the giant 1GHz Motorola handset is already out of stock, both online and in many brick and mortar stores. Verizon confirmed the shortages in a communique to Android Central, saying the company was pleased with initial sales, and that though they were "successful at keeping up with early demand" supplies are presently "low or out."

T-Mobile-flavored Motorola MB710 gets FCC approval
The all-important external photos and users' manual came off confidentiality, which means we can now confirm that a MOTOROI is exactly what we're looking at here. It's unclear what's taking so long for T-Mobile to get this thing to retail since it was apparently ready more than half a year ago, but with an 8 megapixel camera on board, we suspect more than a few people will be willing to forgive the awkward bump in the lower right for a chance to get in on what could be one of T-Mobile's first legit high-end Android devices. With any luck, we'll see a release before too long .

Motorola Charm official for T-Mobile: portrait QWERTY Android at long last
The rumored Charm has just gotten a proper unveiling from Motorola -- and while it's not getting nearly the media fanfare its Droid X corporate cousin did, it's arguably even more unique. The phone features a full portrait QWERTY keyboard placed directly below a 2.8-inch landscape touchscreen, but for most operations, you don't have to touch it if you don't want to because you've also got a touchpad mounted on the back of the phone (the so-called "Backtrack") much like AT&T's Backflip. Not only is this the first widely-launched Android phone to employ such a form factor, it's also the first to run Android 2.1 with Blur -- and interestingly, they've carried over the old version's general look and feel rather than going with the Droid X's updated skin. It's got a 3 megapixel camera , WiFi, and a noise-canceling second microphone. Pricing and availability haven't been announced, but T-Mobile customers can expect it "this Summer."

Motorola XT502 with Android 2.1 gets teased in China, out-KIRFs itself
Oh China, you tease us with much love and KIRFness, except this time it's actually a real phone -- or is it? Even the tipster of this Motorola XT502 says it's a bit "shanzhai," but at least we know it really exists. Leaving that thought aside, this Android 2.1 phone rocks some mid-range features: 3.2-inch screen (no word on display type), trackball, touch function keys, physical call buttons, micro-USB port, microSD expansion, 1,230mAh battery, and five-megapixel camera with button and LED flash.

Motorola Charm spotted in T-Mobile ad, free on contract for back-to-schoolers?
Advertising a product before it's even official, what could be more patriotic? TmoNews has a convincing (but still unconfirmed) picture of a T-Mobile "Back to School" poster featuring Samsung :), Gravity T, Gravity 3, and... Motorola Charm? Looks like our chubby, Motoblur-equipped candybar has been given an air of legitimacy, even more than the previous leak. What's also interesting is the price -- as part of the promotion, Charm is apparently free on contract (seems to be T-Mo's special of choice, these days). Can't say with any certainty what that means for the cost of the phone after this season's school craze dies down -- the Gravity 3, for example, is usually $80 with a two-year agreement -- but it can't be much longer now before we get the skinny on this square.

Motorola Quench (and CLIQ?) XT3 / XT5 get an FCC reveal
Remember that so-called XT502 "Greco" from Motorola that the Bluetooth SIG slipped a few details on last month? We can't blame you if you don't, so allow us to refresh your memory: it's supposedly a full-touch Android device with 850 / 1900 / 2100MHz 3G, and from the looks of the tiny, crappy image they'd posted, it'd probably be a midrange phone. Well, the FCC just passed a Motorola handset codenamed "Greco," conveniently, and a look at the test docs says that this phone will be known on the market as the Quench XT3 and XT5 (we're not sure what the difference will be between the two exactly). As you might recall, the current Quench is the international version of the CLIQ XT, which makes perfect sense -- the XT is a midrange full-touch Android phone, so as far as we can tell, we're looking at its successor here. No word on who will be getting it in the US, but the version that's been approved is for WCDMA bands II and V -- so AT&T (which already offers the Backflip) seems the likely candidate.

Droid 2 rumored to be launching August 23rd with Android 2.2
We've certainly gotten a peak at quite a few Droid 2 details so far, but word of a release date has unfortunately never been among them. According to the site, that date was apparently chosen so the Droid 2 would be the first phone to ship with Android 2.2 out of the box, although that of course remains to be confirmed (current test versions of the Droid 2 are said to be running Android 2.1). If recent rumors pan out, however, the Droid 2 wouldn't be the first Droid to make the jump to Froyo -- the original Droid is said to be getting the update in "late July," while the Droid X will have to wait until late August.

Exclusive: Motorola Droid X preview
The Motorola Droid X has probably been one of the worst kept smartphone Call it a superphone or a mega-smartphone, but the 4.3-inch handset is absolutely Verizon / Motorola's answer to the HTC EVO 4G, and makes the Droid Incredible look like a bench warmer.
So here are our main takeaways:
Hardware:
- The Droid X looks like the EVO 4G,
- Its slightly longer and wider,
- It has four physical buttons along the bottom of the screen rather than touch-sensitive ones .
- It is light weight
Screen:
- The Droid X has a 4.3-inch,
- FWVGA 854 x 480-resolution screen,
Motorola Blur / Android:
- The Droid X was running Android 2.1 with some new sort of Motoblur skin.
- There's also a new navigation bar along the bottom that lets you easily jump to different Android panes.
- The preloaded application on the phone is a Blockbuster application and a DLNA type app.
Camera / Camcorder:
- The Droid X has a 8-megapixel camera,
- Records 720p video.
Keyboard:
- Motorola preloads Swype.
- multitouch keyboard
- keyboards popped up with virtually no lag and it tracks finger swiping more accurately than most Android phones
- It has 1GHz ARMv7 processor
- The phone will come with 8GB of storage space

Motorola Droid X purportedly hitting Verizon on July 19th
The Motorola's Droid X is gearing up to make the Droid Incredible seem a bit less Incredible next month. The big-screened unicorn-of-a-smartphone is purportedly set for a July 19th launch on America's most subscribed-to carrier, with ads to start popping up on the 18th. We're expecting to hear something official out of VZW next week, but till then, we'd suggest talking your current Android phone down from that ledge.

Motorola's Droid X up for pre-order today at Best Buy: $200, no pesky mail-in rebates
The Best Buy's offering pre-sales of Motorola's forthcoming Droid X starting today. The benefit, naturally, is that you can avoid Verizon's pesky $100 mail-in rebate, paying just $199.99 (plus all applicable taxes and bribes) to BB while grabbing a coveting spot in line for the next giant Android phone.

Motorola Droid X first (official) hands-on and unboxing!
Yeah, we kind of already saw this phone, but if you don't tell Motorola and Verizon, we won't. We just got our hands on an official, final Droid X at the NY launch event, and it tastes just as sweet.
Here is few notes
- It's built of basically the same material as the Droid, but there's something almost kind of "taut" about the phone, where when you thwack it with a finger it resounds like a drum. The phone vibration seems to work on this same principle, giving it much less of the typical buzz (in the funky, cheap sense) you expect.
- There are three mics, and in video mode you can select between scenes based on which mic you want to use: outward facing for regular shoots, inward facing for narration. The third mic is up top for noise cancellation during calls.
- Yeah, there's not kickstand, but the EVO 4G really does seem chunky up against the Droid X, and the camera bulge on the latter is not annoying at all.
PHYSICAL BUTTONS.
- You get your choice between Swype and Motorola's multitouch keyboard, which is really pretty great.
- You can tell that the processor is fast, but the UI still has a jerky quality to it
- The new version of Motoblur is much, much more attractive than before -- the widgets are sleeker, smaller, and less in your face.
- You can also resize them, and they rearrange themselves somewhat intelligently.
